Healthcare Administration Overview
- Preparation for real-world experience and industry certifications in medical administrative assisting and billing/coding. Certifications prepared for include: The Certified Medical Administrative Assistant and Certified Billing and Coding Specialist from the National Heathcareer Association.
- A student taking all portions would complete their classroom requirements in just over 2 months.
- Preparation for and taking of independent certification exams would be in accordance with individual student preparation and timeframes.

Admin Certification Training Program
Length: 352 Clock Hours
Objective: To provide access to office administration and healthcare administration related certification programs (individually approved by TWC) over a specified time period to help train and prepare students to take multiple certification exams to enhance administration skills.
Admissions Requirement: Previous general office administration knowledge, training or work experience and medical administration knowledge, training or work experience.

Certification: Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)
Certification: Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS)
Objective: Training in medical administration areas to include: Medical administrative assisting, diagnostic and procedural coding, and medical practice management in preparation for the NHA’s Certified Medical Administrative Assistant and partial preparation for the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist exam(s) to enhance medical specific administrative skills.
Admissions Requirement: Previous medical administration knowledge, training or work experience.
Description: NHA certification exams offer an opportunity to current healthcare workers, union members, or graduates who have successfully completed an approved training program to demonstrate that they are proficient in their field. As far as a job and career are concerned, passing the NHA certification exam can show a prospective employer that the individual is a serious and dedicated professional wanting to advance in their career.
